The Parish Council has been approached by MK Community Car Service to advise the service that they provide.
MK Community Car Service was awarded funding from Milton Keynes Council to develop and grow the car service which benefits the local community.
Volunteering Matters aim to provide a safe and reliable transport service for passengers who may struggle using buses and taxis. All our drivers are local, friendly, and provide a door to door Community Car Service, so people can get out and about again, and access medical services or social activities such as lunch clubs, knitting groups, art & craft, and coffee mornings etc., The purpose is to help people in maintaining their health, independence and reducing isolation.
Volunteer drivers transport passengers to hospitals, health care, local surgeries, day centres, dentists, and opticians, chiropodists and any other medical appointments or activities, travelling as far as Oxford, Aylesbury, Cambridge, Northampton, Olney, and Bedford.
Milton Keynes have a dedicated team of volunteer drivers who want to give something back into the local community offering their time to help people who are in need of transport. The drivers are all caring and understanding of the passengers needs and will assist the passenger if required to the right department and wait up to 2 hours and return the passenger safely home. If the appointment is likely to take longer than 2 hours the driver may go away and return when the passenger is ready.
All our drivers are DBS checked and have received appropriate training for this volunteering role.
